A safe place to find hope, healing, and home in Christ.

What is Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a Christ-centered, biblically based recovery program designed to help people overcome life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups. It’s not just for those struggling with addiction, it’s for anyone walking through pain, brokenness, or challenges that feel too heavy to carry alone.

At Jessamine Christian Church, we believe healing and freedom are found in Jesus. CR provides a safe, confidential space where you can be real, hear stories of hope, and take steps toward wholeness. Through worship, teaching, and community, you’ll discover that God is not finished with your story, and that in Him, lasting change is possible.

Celebrate Recovery is one of the ways we live out our vision of creating a community where all people can discover hope, healing, and home in Christ.

Who is CR for?

Celebrate Recovery is for anyone who is ready to take an honest step toward freedom. You don’t have to have it all together, you just have to be willing to show up.

CR helps people working through things like:
  • Addictions (substance, food, gambling, pornography, etc.)
  • Anxiety, depression, or anger
  • Grief and loss
  • Past trauma or abuse
  • Relationship struggles or codependency
  • Any hurt, habit, or hang-up that holds you back from living fully in Christ

No matter your story, you’ll find a community of people walking a similar road, people who understand and are committed to supporting each other. At Jessamine, we believe nobody should struggle alone. That’s why CR exists: to remind you that Jesus offers hope, healing, and freedom for every part of life.

Why Celebrate Recovery Matters

Life is hard, and sometimes we carry pain or patterns that feel impossible to overcome on our own. Celebrate Recovery provides a friendly, safe, and confidential environment where you can be honest about your struggles without fear of judgment.

Each week, you’ll hear real stories of hope and transformation from people who have walked through hurts, habits, and hang-ups, and discovered healing in Christ. Their testimonies remind us that no one is too far gone, no story is too broken, and no chain is too strong for Jesus to break.

We believe in the power of community, the promise of God’s Word, and the hope found in Christ. CR matters because it’s not just about managing struggles, it’s about finding lasting freedom, building authentic relationships, and experiencing the healing love of Jesus.

About Your Leaders
Brian Spears was born in Michigan, raised in Eastern Kentucky, and has lived in the Jessamine/Fayette County area since 1998. Brian and his wife Stacy were married on July 27, 2013. Stacy was born in Owensboro, KY and has also lived in the Jessamine/Fayette County area since 1998.

They have a blended family of 5 children and 9 grandchildren. Brian and Stacy enjoy spending time with family, square dancing, fishing, seeing new places and serving in various ministries when they are not working.

Brian was raised in a Christian home until the age of 18 but was never baptized during that time. After nearly 24 years of believing in but not following Jesus, he accepted the invitation to start following Jesus on March 31, 2013, and was baptized at Crossroads Christian Church in Lexington.

Brian and Stacy were still attending Crossroads Christian Church when they moved to Nicholasville in 2015. After Stacy woke up feeling bad one Sunday morning, Brian decided to find a local church to attend so that he could be home sooner to care for her rather than driving all the way from Lexington. Jessamine Christian Church was the closest church to their home, so he went. Brian enjoyed the warm welcome, Bible preaching, and wonderful experience so much that they both returned the following Sunday. Not long after that, they officially became members of Jessamine Christian Church on Nov. 6, 2016.

Since that time, Brian has served as a Deacon, and with the Student Ministry, Jail Ministry and Worship Ministry. Stacy has also served with the Jail Ministry. They both feel very blessed to be able to serve together in the Celebrate Recovery Ministry at Jessamine Christian Church which launched on Feb. 6th 2018.
